wake me up when September ends

I am very grateful for the opportunity to work with my fellow colleagues at PBC Orchard. My supervisor is a very caring lady while my team mates are very helpful. I have forged new friendships during my 2+ months stint.

12 Sept:
RM Angeline knew that 13 Sept would be my last day with them. Thus she treated me to a meal at Pasta de Waraku at Changi Airport while we were out delivering mooncakes to her clients. So glad that I was given the chance to converse with her as she had taught me many things in different aspects.

love the mushrooms!!

this is GOOD (:

Last day at UOB 13 Sept:
My colleagues treated me to lunch at Din Tai Fung. So nice of them to ask what food do I like. In the end we went for almost a good 2-hour lunch. I had prepared rocky road dessert for them in return, while I gave presents to those whom I am closer with.

Little did I realized that my sweet colleagues prepared small gifts for me too. I was so touched! (:

(L-R): Man Ping, Claudia, Lee Kheng & Yu Hua

Before I left the office, I managed to take some pictures with those who were still working:

Hello, Pigeon from PVR

Claudia from PVR

May from PV, my fellow book lover

Yu Hua, buddy from the same team

Wei Lun, IS - buddy for the day since we wore the same shade

Can't guess how old are they right?

Uni Peeps Meet-up Session 15 Sept:
We finally had our meet-up at Manhattan Market Tampines 1, after procrastinating for so long ever since WJ & SL were back from Korea. Received my souvenirs from Taiwan & Korea! (:

CPF Buddies luncheon & Chillout with YK 16 Sept:
Met up with Rachel, Sherilyn & Kaden for lunch at our favourite Amoy Food Centre. S & I decided to get some desserts while I waited for YK to confirm our meeting place. Thanks to Kaden, we managed to try the really yummy strawberry tofu cheesecake & carrot cake. I love the former better because the taste was just right. As much as I dislike strawberry, I was craving for another piece. Haha.

YK & I decided to explore Robertson Quay & we settled for Smitten cafe as I read online that it has free wifi. However when we wanted to use our ipads to surf Net, the wireless seemed to be down, much to our exasperation. I doubt I would want to head back there in future.

Cafe Hopping 18 Sept:
Sherilyn & I decided to explore Ann Siang Hill for the hidden cafes tucked quietly in the area. I googled about Le Chocolat & we decided to give their rainbow cake at try. Much to my disappointment, the rainbow cake looked better than it is tasted. We preferred the hazelnut chocolate cake over the former. Plus the service was quite mediocre so we headed elsewhere to have our drinks & chill.

So it was Group Therapy at Duxton area. I love the place there as it was very quiet & it provides free Wifi. Haha. As I was too full, I ordered Affagato, espresso shot with vanilla icecream. The service here was way better than Le Chocolat. The staff was very patient with me when I asked more for details about their drinks, because I cannot really take caffeine well.

Mooncake Festival:
For this year, I received a super cute Doraemon mooncake from Yan. Much loves! Besides, parents bought durian & traditional mooncakes & my colleague gave me two traditional ones too. Sigh I think I need to slim down after eating so many.

Habitat Coffee 28 Sept:
First visit to this cafe located at Upper Thomson area with YK. Ordered their tuna aglio olio, truffle fries & the Shrooms. Service was above average & the food were quite tasty! (: Took a stroll to explore the area a little & found a korean restaurant nearby, probably would try that sometime soon.

Month of July

Haven't been blogging for quite some time, so I have decided to summarize July into a post on its own. Ever since I have started work on 8th, I don't have the time to frequently update this space about my life. Nothing much to rave about anyway, it's just home->work->home, with occasional meetups here & there.

1. Charlie Brown Cafe
Mum, sis & I decided to pop by this cafe before accompanying sis for her doctor appointment in town. This alfresco cafe is located just outside 313 Somerset, with a cute backdrop of Snoopy & friends. We ordered baked rice, chicken rice & crepe to share. I ordered a cup of hazelnut latte & it comes with latte art! (:

2. Despicable Me 2
So YK & I went to catch this movie at Tampines. The movie was pretty good, love Agnes the most! I wore a yellow top & blue shorts on purpose because I wanted to resemble minion! Haha.

3. Baking time!
So sis & I decided to bake something before I start work on Monday. Googled for some easy recipes & found one for nutella muffins.

4. UOB@Faber House
My summer job before school starts in September.

5. Bonding time
Dinner with mum & sis at Ice Cube Cafe @ Bedok Library after work. Happy Midweek!

6. TGIF at Saizeriya
YK was having his reservist & we finally got to meet on Friday! He came to pick me up at my office before we headed to The Cathay for our dinner. I finally got to try Saizeriya after seeing much reviews about the affordability & the escargots. Our dinner came up to a reasonable price as we ordered quite a lot to share! Even the group of guys seated next to our table couldn't resist to take another look at the amount of food on our table. Haha!

we ordered two sets of escargots baked with olive oil & garlic! (:

I ordered seafood paella

7. Sentosa with Chawanmushis
Finally it was our date at the beach! Regina & I had been wanting to chill at the beach ever since we started working. Yan joined us too :D We bought Subway, Koi & other snacks to bring to the beach for our impromptu picnic. We even brought our beach mats so that we could lie down comfortably.

my lunch!

8. Happy Sunday
YK & I visited a friend of his at SGH before heading to Astons, Bugis+ for our late lunch. Shopped around & saw the Baskin Robbins promotion. He knew that I couldn't resist it & we bought one to share - raspberry flavoured & sugar-free chocolate! What's weekend without ice cream?

9. Antoinette @ Lavender
Dinner date with lil sis after work. Brought her to try Antoinette as she hadn't been to before. We were lucky to get a table because we didn't make any reservations on a Friday night especially. The space is much larger than the outlet at Mandarin Gallery. I was having intense craving for pancakes so I ordered the most basic one to try! Sis chose a very chocolatey chocolate ice cream as dessert, if you are a fan of chocolate then you may want to try it. I still prefer their Nougatine.

10. TGIF with colleagues
I recommended Saizeriya to my team as they wanted to try it after I raved about the food. They were pleasantly surprised at the prices & quality of food. Yuhua bought a durian chocolate cake for me from Big O Cafe located at Paragon. It is yummy!

11. Archipelago Brewery
TGIF with YK at one of my favourite places after work. We shared a pizza & ordered their beer as they were having Happy Hour promotion. It felt pretty good to have a drink after work as it perked us up! I like this pub because it is alfresco & the manager is very friendly. (:

What an eventful month! I shall blog about the Phantom of The Opera another time! (:

family time

Celebrated Dad's belated birthday yesterday at Canton Paradise, Katong I12. It was initially rather peaceful until a group of 10 sat next to our table with their rowdy kids. I can't stand kids who do not behave themselves & shout at their top voices. Their parents did not even attempt to ask their kids to lower their voices just because they were busy fiddling with their phones. *shake head*

The restaurant was too dark to take proper pictures so here's the only picture with my lil sis.

In my opinion, the food was pretty decent. When we tried the much-acclaimed custard buns, I felt that there was nothing much to rave about. It wasn't bad, but I would prefer my pandan flavoured custard buns from Food Republic anytime over this.

Takeaway some char siew buns to YK's house for our 2nd round of dinner. It was his mum's birthday too. So I bought char siew buns for them to try. They ordered pizza hut & we were bloated after that. Sinful max. Haha.

Okada Coffee

My 2nd visit to this pretty quaint Japanese cafe tucked away in 100AM at Tanjong Pagar. Partly because YK's cousin is working there while waiting for his Uni to start.

Hence we ordered a matcha cake, blueberry apple tart, cheesecake & the pudding :D

cakes for our tea!

orange flavoured cake which were on the house (:

Meet up soon my girls! Thankful that we become closer after our 2nd year in Uni (:
